Here is some information about the upcoming introduction of fares and passes for RideKC transit services.

Fares & Passes

Reminder: Route Changes to be Implemented Sept. 6, 2026

On Sunday Sept. 6, 2026, several routes will be eliminated, and several others will change frequencies. 


These routes will be eliminated:
9 – 9th Street
21 – Cleveland – Antioch
23 – 23rd Street
25 – Troost
27 – 27th Street
57 – Wornall
71 – Prospect

Frequency will be decreased to every 60 minutes on these routes:
12 – 12th Street
18 – Indiana
35 – 35th Street
75 – 75th Street

WEEKDAYS: 
•    Frequency will be decreased to every 30 minutes on 31 – 31stStreet 
•    Frequency will be increased to 15 minutes on Troost MAX (short trip maintained)


These service adjustments were approved as part of the City of Kansas City, Mo.’s FY 2026-27 budget and operating agreement adopted in May 2026. KCATA worked with the City to align service with the approved funding level while seeking to preserve access for as many riders as possible. The service adjustments were originally scheduled to begin in May but were temporarily deferred through the availability of FIFA World Cup-related funding.
