More Options Coming

Additional payment options will roll out in Phase 2 in Fall 2026, expanding how riders can purchase and manage fares.

Fare Capping is Automatic when you use th esame form of payment each time you ride

RideKC's system includes fare capping to help riders save money.

Fare capping automatically limits how much you pay in a day. Once you reach th ecost of a day pass , additional rides that day will not increase your total.

The system tracks it automatically when you pay using the same method of payment - no extra steps required.

Transfers

Instead of traditional free transfers, RideKC will offer the industry standard - Fare Capping. Fare Capping means that every rider pays as they ride. Once their spending reaches the cost of a daily, weekly or monthly pass, you stop being charged automatically. If you are riding more than twice a day, this is the option for you. It's a system designed to save you money over time. Fare Capping is only applicable for people purchasing single rides.

Reduced Fare Programs

Reduced fares will remain available for eligible riders, including:

  • Seniors
  • Riders with disabilities

Riders Without Smartphones or Bank Cards

For riders without smartphones, daily, weekly and monthly passes are available for sale at the East Village Transit Center (13th and Charlotte St.) and the KCATA Headquarters (1200 E. 18th Street, KCMO)

In the Fall of 2026, we will announce additional locations where passes may be purchased.
