RideKC Freedom On-Demand
Freedom On-Demand is the accessible transportation service of RideKC.
Overview
- Cost of service: $5.00 for the first 5 miles, $2.00 per each additional mile
- This is a shared ride service
- Trip booking is done through the RideKC Freedom App, available free in the Apple and Google app stores.
- Service is curb-to-curb
Freedom On-Demand Hours of operation
- Weekday (Mondy - Thursday): 6 am to Midnight
- Friday: 6 am to 1 am
- Saturday: 8 am to 1 am
- Sunday: 8 am to Midnight
Service Area
The service area includes all of Johnson County and Wyandotte County in Kansas, and all of Kansas City and Independence in Missouri.
Freedom On-Demand User Application
To become eligible for RideKC Freedom On-Demand please click the below link and fill out the application. Once you submit your application you will become automatically eligible for service until July 31, 2026.
Freedom On-Demand User Application
Follow these easy steps to get started:
1. Download the app using either App Store or Play Store
2. Password Reset
a. Open the RideKC Freedom app on your device. Click "SIGN IN" followed by "Forgot Password".
b. Enter your email address, and we'll send you an email allowing you to reset your password.
c. Click on the password reset email link you received in your email and set your password.
3. Sign In
a. Go back to the RideKC Freedom app and click 'SIGN IN' and enter your email address and password that you set to sign into your account.
4. Book your ride
a. Enter the Pick-up and Drop-off locations by typing an address, choosing from the lists of recent or common addresses, or tapping a point on the map
b Select the type and number of passengers
c. Select the date (You can book up to 5 days in advance)
d. Click Find rides to see a list of options
e. Select the most convenient ride option
On the Booking Details page
- You can "Add Special Instructions" as notes for the driver
Select the Payment Method
- You can pay using cash or credit/debit card in cab or pay using credit/debit card through the RideKC Freedom app.
Click the button at the bottom of the page to complete the booking process
