Christmas and New Year’s Day Transit Service

Holiday Transit Service In Kansas City Area

Holidays Observed Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1

Area transit providers will observe the Christmas holiday on Thursday, Dec. 25, and New Year’s Day holiday on Thursday, Jan. 1.

RideKC operated by KCATA will use Sunday/Holiday schedules on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1. Regular bus service will be provided Wednesday, Dec. 24, and Wednesday,  December 31. The Regional Call Center and administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25 and Thursday, Jan. 1.

The RideKC Freedom paratransit office will be open and paratransit service will be provided in eligible areas. RideKC Freedom On-Demand will be available.

KC Streetcar Streetcar will operate 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 24; 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 25;  5 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Dec. 31; and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Jan. 1. Check www.kcstreetcar.org for details.

RideKC in Johnson County will not offer any service and administrative and dispatch offices will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 25, and Thursday, Jan. 1. Micro Transit will end service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 24 .Regular service and office hours will resume on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

RideKC routes in Wyandotte County operated by UG Transit will not offer service on Thursday, Dec. 25, and on Thursday, Jan. 1. IRIS (microtransit) service in Wyandotte County will operate on December 25th and January 1st from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
