Request for Information - KCATA Fare Payment System

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) will be issuing a Request for Proposals for a fare payment system.  Interested contractors shall be responsible for installation of the equipment, ongoing operation and maintenance support, including managing the Retail Network, maintaining Back Office operations, providing level 2 maintenance support for equipment, and the processing of payments for sales of all fare products through all fare distribution channels. It is vital that a mobile application with visual validation and a reliable process to address riders who do not have a smartphone, BE FULLY IMPLEMENTED on or prior to June 1, 2026. This means tested and ready for use. This project is funded in part by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and the proposed solution must comply with all FTA regulations in any Buy America requirements.
