June 1: 118 Extends to Mission Transit Center

Date:May 26, 2020
Effective:Jun 01, 2020

Southern Extension of 118 to Restore Vital Connection Between Wyandotte County and Johnson County

NEW 118 SCHEDULE: Weekdays - Map

Beginning June 1, 2020, the 118 18th Street will travel via Roe Avenue and Johnson Drive to Mission Transit Center. To accommodate this southern extension, the existing loop providing service to 18th & Kansas Avenue will be removed.

This southern extension of the 118 will restore a vital link between two of Kansas’ most populous counties. One of only two connections linking transit riders from Wyandotte County to the Mission Transit Center in northeast Johnson County was lost in early April when regional service reductions were implemented to in response to COVID-19.

This extension will provide additional access to jobs, healthcare, education, grocery and retail with possible connections to AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Oak Park Mall, Johnson County Community College and KU Edwards Campus.

Mission Transit Center serves as a RideKC Park and Ride location, with parking available immediately southeast of the center. From Mission Transit Center, connections can be made to the following RideKC routes:

401 Metcalf-Plaza
402 Johnson-Quivira
403 Antioch-Olathe
435 JOCO Downtown Midday
499 Micro Transit

For additional information, please call the Regional Call Center at 816-221-0660, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends.
