Micro Transit

RideKC Micro Transit is an affordable ride-hailing transportation option. It is available in parts of Johnson County, and is coming to Wyandotte County in January 2020. RideKC is adding route numbers to Micro Transit to help identify the service. 

KCK/Wyandotte County - Begins Jan. 2, 2020

Service Hours:
5:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m., Monday through Friday
Service Area: State Ave. on the north, I-635 and 42nd Street on the east, 72nd St. on the west and the Kansas River and Metropolitan Ave. on the south 
Fare: $1.50 with in the Microtransit/TransLoc app or with exact cash in vehicle. You can also transfer to RideKC Micro Transit with your bus pass or transfer card (paper or RideKC app).

Johnson County

Service Hours:
6 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday
Weekday Service Area: 63rd Street and Shawnee Mission Parkway on the north, Metcalf on the east, Renner Rd. on the west and 119th on the south
Saturday Service Area: 63rd Street and Shawnee Mission Parkway on the north, State Line Road on the east, Renner Rd. on the west and 119th on the south 
Fare: $1.50 with in the Microtransit/TransLoc app or with exact cash in vehicle. You can also transfer to RideKC Micro Transit with your bus pass or transfer card (paper or RideKC app).

Most trips will use a Micro Transit van. However, RideKC is adding taxi vehicles to the Micro Transit fleet during high demand times, such as morning and evening rush hour, and over the lunch hour.

Maps and Key Destinations

In Johnson County, you can take Micro Transit anywhere within the service area shown below. The service area includes Downtown Overland ParkMission Transit Center and KU Edwards Campus. Destinations include AdventHealth Shawnee Mission, Oak Park Mall and Johnson County Community College.

In Wyandotte County, you can take Micro Transit anywhere within the service area shown below. The service area includes the Midtown KCK Transit Center at 47th & State Ave., Santa Fe Industrial Area, KCKCC Tech Center and the Amazon Fulfillment Center. 199 Micro Transit also serves ALDI, Happy Foods West, Jones Bar-B-Q, as well as Cambridge at River Oaks Apartments, Terrace Pointe Apartments and Skyline Apartments.

How Micro Transit works

Request a Ride:

  • Mobile App: Anyone within the service area boundaries can summon a ride using the mobile app. Simply enter in your destination address.
  • Phone: In Johnson County, call 816.512.5510. In Wyandotte County, call 913.573.8351.
  • Online: Visit ondemand.transloc.com

Pay your Fare: Pay $1.50 per ride with in the Microtransit app or with exact cash in vehicle. You can also transfer to RideKC Micro Transit with your bus pass or transfer card (paper or RideKC app).

Enjoy the Trip: Your trip will be as direct as possible to your entered destination.

How to use the Micro Transit app

1. Go to your app store and search “Microtransit” to download the app. Click to download: Google Play - Apple App Store    

2. Open the app and review the available services. Choose the service you want to use by tapping "Book a Ride."

3. Confirm your pick-up location and select your drop-off location. These must be within the service's region paramaters shown on the map. Change your pick-up time by tapping “ ASAP” and selecting a new time and date to schedule your ride ahead of time.

4. Select the number of passengers with you, and if you need a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Tap "Request Ride" when ready.

5. The first time you use the app, the system will require you to log in or create an account* with TransLoc (the company behind the app). *This is a free account, and your information will not be shared, however, you will need to include your mobile phone number if you would like to receive text message notifications.

6. Keep the app open to stay informed on your ride status.
