Sean Duffy Confirmed as Secretary of Transportation

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) congratulates Sean Duffy, who was confirmed on Jan. 28 as the 20th secretary of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT).

“Transportation is critical infrastructure that forms the foundation of our communities,” said Frank White III, KCATA president and CEO. “We look forward to working with Secretary Duffy to ensure that public transportation remains the backbone of our urban and rural communities and a driver of economic growth and innovation.”

Duffy stated on Jan. 15, “No federal agency impacts Americans’ daily lives and loved ones like the Department of Transportation.” His remarks during his confirmation promised to prioritize safety, balanced with innovation.
