Kansas City, Mo. (Aug.6, 2025) - The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Ks., in partnership with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), announce a groundbreaking at its 7th & Minnesota Transit Center at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 15, 2025.
This groundbreaking officially celebrates the kick-off of $1.64 million in transit corridor improvements along three major segments along 7th St.
The project includes:
“When I ran for office, I made a commitment to advocate for the kind of infrastructure investment that truly supports our residents, connecting them to jobs, healthcare, education and opportunity. $1.64 million in transit improvements is more than just a construction project: it reflects positive progress in our efforts to facilitate an improved quality of life. This transit center represents a modern, connected and more equitable future for our community where transportation works for everyone,” says Mayor Tyrone Garner.
