Kansas City, Mo. (June11, 2026) — The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority has announced that it will open its East Village Transit Center this Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. for riders to purchase passes prior to the end of the grace period.
Beginning Monday, June 15, all riders must pay the fare in order to board buses.
The return to fares also introduces some changes in the way fares are paid. As is the case for many transit systems across the country, cash is no longer accepted on the bus. Riders can pay through the RideKC GO app, with a debit or credit card, or by obtaining a physical pass. Physical passes can be purchased, with cash or card, at the East Village Transit Center.
