RideKC, in partnership with the Kansas City Veterans Administration and the Veterans Community Project, honored veterans through a free fare program.
The program originally allowed all area veterans to use RideKC fixed-route bus service for free with a RideKC Veterans Pass. Zero Fare for everyon is here (through 2023).
Veterans can ride 199 Micro Transit in KCK and 499 Micro Transit in Johnson County for free with a RideKC Veterans Pass. Regular cost of a Micro Transit ride is $1.50.
Identification cards are available through Veterans Community Project, 8900 Troost, Kansas City, MO 64131, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Veterans will need to bring a dd214, VA card, or a driver's license with the veteran identifier to receive a RideKC Veterans Pass.
The initiative started in 2017 with sponsorship from the Greater Kansas City Labor Unions/AFL-CIO.
