2/15: Service Changes Affecting Kansas City, Mo.

Date:January 08, 2026
Effective:Feb 15, 2026

Beginning Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, several route changes will be made. These changes will  impact approximately 2% of riders. Two public meetings will be announced soon to share the upcoming changes and receive feedback. One meeting will be in person and the other virtual.

Two routes are scheduled to be eliminated due to duplicate service:

  • 19 East-West Connector: Riders can use either the 18 Indiana or the 11 Northeast-Westside for alternative access.

  • 29 Blue Ridge Limited: Riders can use the 28 Blue Ridge for alternative access.

Due to low ridership early in the morning and late at night, the following routes will operate between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. on weekdays.

9 9th Street Weekday-Saturday-Sunday 11 Northeast-Westside Weekday-Saturday-Sunday
12 12th Street Weekday-Saturday-Sunday 18 Indiana Weekday-Saturday-Sunday
21 Cleveland-Antioch Weekday-Saturday 23 23rd Street Weekday-Saturday-Sunday
25 Troost Weekday-Saturday-Sunday 27 27th Street Weekday-Saturday-Sunday
28 Blue Ridge Weekday-Saturday 35 35th Street Weekday-Saturday-Sunday

Why Are These Changes Being Made? Partner communities decide how much transit service to purchase from KCATA. KCATA and individual municipalities collaborate on cost efficiencies that will have the least negative impact on riders.

This bulletin will be updated with schedules as they are made available.
