Transit App Replaces RideKC App

May 6: Transit App Becomes Official App for RideKC

RideKC will begin using Transit as its official app for trip planning and real-time information, effective May 6. When fare collection resumes in the Kansas City area, Transit will also allow customers to pay their fare with the app. This will replace the existing RideKC app.

Transit is the leading transport app in North America, available in 200 cities worldwide. With the app, riders can find nearby transit options and departure times, including accurate real-time tracking, trip planning, and step-by-step navigation with Transit’s GO feature.

Transit also offers first- and last-mile connections to RideKC with its Transit+ feature. For certain trips, Transit will suggest taking a ride-hailing service as part of the trip, and connecting RideKC service. This feature allows you to plan, book, and pay for a ride-sharing trip, while getting real-time updates on your connection in a single app.

The RideKC app, which was launched in 2017, will be no longer be supported effective May 13, 2020.
