RideKC January 6-7 Winter Service: 6 p.m. Update

6 p.m. Update:

Fixed route service operated by KCATA and Johnson County is planned to operate as scheduled on Tuesday, January 7.

Fixed route and microtransit operated by the Unified Government will begin operating service at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, January 7.

Due to refreezing on the roadways, RideKC Freedom and IRIS will begin service at 6.a.m. on Tuesday, January 7.

8 a.m. Update:

Fixed Route services will not operate in Wyandotte County and Johnson County on Monday, January 6. Fixed route services in Missouri will continue to operate.

6 a.m. Update:

Good morning, Kansas City! There will be some bus service on every route this morning. Expect 15-20 minute delays. Cold temperatures make it dangerous to be outside for an extended time. RideKC Freedom and IRIS Updates:

Service for RideKC Freedom and IRIS will resume on Monday, Jan. 6, 10 a.m. Customers should expect delays as roads work to be cleared of snow and ice.

Path of Travel Requirements

Clear Path Required: Customers must ensure that all paths of travel to and from the vehicle are cleared of snow and ice.

Driver Assistance: Drivers are unable to assist with snow or ice clearing.

Ride Refusal: Customers may be refused service if they cannot safely access the vehicle due to uncleared paths.
