KCATA Hits the Streets With Pop-Up Meetings For RideKC Next Survey

The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) has initiated one of the largest system redesigns – RideKC Next – in the agency’s history. Over the next two weeks, KCATA staff will be looking for answers from those who don’t have easy access to technology during scheduled pop-up meetings at various bus stops in the city.

The following pop-up meetings are scheduled:

10th and Main Transit Center - June 11, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Boardwalk Square - June 12, 7 to 8 a.m.
Antioch Crossing Transit Center - June 13, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Crown Center MAX - June 14, 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
39th and Prospect - June 17, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
Plaza MAX - June 18, 7 to 8 a.m.
11th and Grand - June 19, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
12th and Grand - June 20, 7 to 8 a.m.

RideKC Next – Take the Survey

The RideKC Next system redesign includes an analysis of current transit operations’ efficiency and effectiveness, consideration of new mobility options, a look at public/private partnership opportunities, and public outreach and engagement.

RideKC Next has three steps. Step one is to review existing transit service and conduct initial public outreach. The Pop-up meetings and an online survey are vital to this process. Residents can take the survey in English or Spanish at ridekcnext.org through July. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

Step two is presenting the draft plan and seeking additional public comment.

Step three is submitting the final plan to KCATA for review and approval by the Board of Commissioners.
