Introducing New RideKC Mobile Payment App

Riding the bus will be easier than ever before with RideKC’s new mobile payment app. Leave your wallet at home? No problem. Don’t have exact change? We’ve got you covered.

The new RideKC app, a pilot program, will make the need for cash a thing of the past. The new app is available for Apple and Android smartphones.

What’s even more exciting is the app lets you do more than pay a fare. It puts the Kansas City region’s transit system in the palm of your hands. You can use the RideKC app to plan your trip or even follow your bus as it travels its way to your bus stop.

What you need to know about the RideKC app 

Downloading the app: iPhone users can go to the App Store. Android users can go to the Google Play Store. Search for “RideKC.” Click on these links to go directly to the App Store or Google Play.

Where the app is accepted: Available on any RideKC fixed-route bus service in the Kansas City area, including Johnson County, Wyandotte County and Independence.

How to pay: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted.

Transfers: Single rides good for two hours. No transfers required.

Passes available on the app: All passes can be purchased except for 10-ride passes and the reduced fare, single-ride pass for the 550 Lee’s Summit Express. Student and employer passes also are not supported by the RideKC app.

Paper passes: Not transferrable to the app.

Languages: Available in English and Spanish.
