RideKC Bus Operating Normally; RideKC Freedom Paratransit Under Phase A Until Noon Friday

RideKC is providing bus service regular bus service Friday, Jan. 6. The Regional Call Center is open 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. on Friday. Customers can call 816-221-0660 for help planning a trip or to get the status of bus or paratransit service.

Paratransit Service

Due to conditions on side streets, the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA) is using Phase A of the Inclement Weather Plan for RideKC Freedom paratransit service (formerly called Share-A-Fare) through noon, Friday, Jan.6. Paratransit customers may experience delays of 30 to 60 minutes past scheduled pickup times.  RideKC Freedom is a transportation program that provides alternate transportation to persons whose disability prevents them from using the regular fixed-route bus service. Customer questions or cancellations can be directed to the Share-A-Fare office at (816) 842-9070.

Warming Buses For Friday, Jan. 6

During the extreme cold, warming buses will be provided at the following locations Friday morning:

  • 10th & Main Transit Center, Kansas City, Mo., 6 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • Mission Transit Center, Mission, Kan., 6:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • 47th & State Ave. Transit Center, Kansas City, Kan., 6:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • Independence, Mo., Transit Center, 7:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Buses were also provided Thursday.
