The Mid-America Regional Council has started work on a new long-range Regional Transportation Plan, called RTP 2050. The plan will become the blueprint for managing the region’s transportation system. The plan is expected to include goals for many types of transportation, everything from public transit to highways, from bicycles to driverless vehicles.
As a transit rider, you have a role in this plan. MARC wants your input through a simple online survey. It takes about 5 minutes to complete. Visit www.marc.org/2050.
This survey asks about the “big picture” needs of the region, rather than smaller, specific projects. You’ll also be asked demographic information, including the county in which you live.
The plan will identify transportation improvements for the next 20 to 30 years, and is required by the federal government. RTP 2050 will identify needs and sets out a budget for federal transportation funds that the metro area expects to receive over the next three decades. Work on the plan started in Fall 2017, and the final plan must be completed and approved by June 2020.
