The Summer Youth Pass is the inexpensive, convenient and safe way for young riders to get around all summer long in June, July and August. For $12 a month, 6- to 18-year-olds can get a Summer Youth Pass and take KCATA buses to work, school or anywhere the bus goes. The Summer Youth Pass is good only on local routes operated by KCATA. It is not valid on routes operated in Johnson County, by IndeBus in Independence, Mo., or by Unified Government Transit.
Summer Youth Passes are available at KCATA office at 1200 E. 18th St., with a copy of a birth certificate, photo ID, Youth Reduced Farecard or other proof of age. The customer service lobby is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Online orders can be made at store.KCATA.org with a valid Youth Reduced Farecard. Online orders are shipped by US Postal Service and can take up to 5-7 business days to receive. Use the last four digits of the Youth Reduced Farecard for online orders.
The flash passes are color-coded and good only for the designated month. Summer Youth Passes used by anyone other than the rider it was purchased for will be confiscated.
