Ozone Alert Program Starts June 1

Date:May 22, 2017
Effective:Jun 01, 2017

During the summer, Kansas City is more vulnerable to unhealthy ozone pollution. This pollution is largely caused when emissions from motor vehicles, lawn mowers, power plants and industry react with heat and sunlight.

Between June 1 and Sept. 30, when the area is under an Ozone Alert, one-way bus fare will be only 75¢ for all customers. The special Ozone Alert fare includes a transfer upon request, and is also available on all RideKC bus service. The fare is not valid on the 510 K-10 Connector, but is valid for travel on other express routes. The Day Pass, purchased at the farebox, remains $3.
