The Mission Transit Center will undergo a facelift starting Feb. 8 as it moves to the new RideKC regional transit brand.
Contractors will remove five monuments at the transit center for rebranding. Construction will be confined to removing, rebranding, and reinstalling the five monuments, including three that house digital display signs showing real-time schedule information.
A minimum of one sign will operate during the construction work so riders can still view route information. No rider services will be disrupted or changed during the work.
The new monuments will be painted blue with the RideKC logo in white lettering. The design reflects the new transit brand that the Kansas City region adopted for public transportation.
During construction, the removed monuments will be replaced with painted, wooden boxes for safety. The project is scheduled for completion at the end of March.
