Starting Wednesday March 1, fares on four RideKC express routes in Johnson County will be reduced to $1.50 so the price is in line with other transit services across the region.
The new fare is 75 cents off the $2.25 fare that riders now pay to use routes operating between Johnson County and downtown Kansas City, Mo. The new $1.50 fare will apply to these routes: 519 Olathe Express, 563 Shawnee Express, 569 South OP Express and the 595 Gardner OP Express.
The new fare for RideKC express service will be the same as the $1.50 fare for all local services in Johnson County and the rest of the Kansas City region.
Additionally, the price for a 31-day express pass will now be $50, reduced from $75.60 to account for the lower fares. The new $50 price for a 31-day pass is the same as the price of 31-day passes for local bus service across the region.
