Transit, Pedestrian Improvements At 75th Street & Metcalf Focus of December Workshops

Date:November 27, 2017
Effective:Dec 05, 2017

RideKC will hold a series of workshops during the first week in December to explore ways for improving bus stops and pedestrian access at 75th Street and Metcalf Avenue, one of the busiest intersections in Overland Park. We are inviting riders and residents to attend any of the three meetings, which are scheduled from Tuesday, Dec. 5 through Thursday, Dec. 7 at Kansas Christian College, 7029 74th St. Here is the upcoming schedule:

  • Tuesday, Dec. 5, 5:30 to 7 p.m., open house to discuss challenges presented at 75th and Metcalf.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 6, 5:30 to 7 p.m., open house to discuss possible solutions for improving the intersection at 75th and Metcalf.
  • Thursday, Dec. 7, 2 to 4 p.m., open house to discuss recommendations for improving the intersection of 75th and Metcalf.

Any improvements at 75th and Metcalf could benefit riders on three bus routes serving that intersection: 401 Metcalf-Plaza, 404 Metcalf-Downtown and 475 Quivira-75th Street. The three routes combined carry about 600 riders a day.
