Update: New 401, 404 Detour Effective March 22

Effective Wednesday, March 22, the 401 Metcalf-Plaza and the 404 Metcalf-Downtown service will be rerouted back to Marty in Downtown Overland Park. KCATA has monitored the partial street closures at 80th & Marty and determined that buses can resume service to the Farmer’s Market stop in both directions and the Matt Ross stop in the southbound direction only.

For service March 16-21, please information below the first map. 

Southbound buses will travel on the regular route: From southbound Metcalf, west on 79th Street, south on Marty, south on Metcalf.

Northbound buses will be detoured as follows: from northbound Metcalf, west on 80th Street, north on Marty, east on 79th Street, north on Metcalf.

Riders will no longer be able to flag the bus on Metcalf, as was temporarily allowed during the previous detour. Please refer to the below map for route details.

Metcalf detour

Detour through March 21

Effective March 6-21, the 401 and the 404 service will be rerouted off of Marty in downtown Overland Park because of construction work. The detour continues until further notice. 

Buses will not stop at the Matt Ross Community Center nor the Overland Park Farmers’ Market. Both routes will travel on Metcalf Avenue until further notice. Riders can board and exit the bus anywhere between 79th Street and 83rd Street.
