RideKC has a new, more in-depth way to get feedback from riders, businesses and communities. The RideKC Advisory Committee is now forming, and applications are due Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017.
We already use a variety of methods to gather input from riders, as well as members of the community who don’t ride transit. In addition to unsolicited email and phone comments, these have recently included:
“The Advisory Committee will provide a forum for KCATA to engage in meaningful conversations and learning about local transit issues and opportunities,” said KCATA President & CEO Robbie Makinen. “Transit is evolving at a very fast pace in Kansas City and across the United States. This is one way for us to stay in touch with the community at large and provide the Kansas City region with the best, most appropriate transit options possible.”
This group will include a majority of transit riders representing the entire RideKC region, along with people representing businesses or business associations.

Applications are available online [PDF], and are due Nov. 1, 2017. Committee selections will be approved by late November, with an introductory committee orientation scheduled for December. The voluntary committee serves in an advisory role, and does not have binding authority on decisions by the KCATA Board or KCATA staff.
