Sam, the KCATA’s second in command, will join Jameson Auten, the KCATA’s chief of Regional Service Delivery and Innovation, on the transportation association’s board of directors.

Bringing 22 years of experience in transit leadership, Desue will be on the front line advocating for public transportation funding and explaining how it benefits communities.

“I am excited about the opportunity to serve on this important team that will take a look at pressing transportation needs and issues,” Desue said.

As the newest board member, Desue said he wants to push for transportation investment that will create economic stability and support the national economy.

“I have seen personally and professionally that public transportation is one of the most influential economic players in any city around the world,” Desue said.

Guiding new technological advancements such as RideKC Freedom On-Demand and the new RideKC mobile app, Desue wants to focus on innovations in his new leadership position.

"I am proud of the innovative, out-of-the-bus strategies we are testing and implementing," Desue said.

As a member of the association's board, Desue's excited to get together with industry leaders and discuss way of delivering "public transportation that meets the needs of changing demographics.”

The KCATA is proud of Sam. We know he will shine representing Kansas City and the rest of our region on a national stage. Best wishes, Sam. We know you will make a difference.
