Join RideKC’s scavenger hunt

Grab the family and come join RideKC on a scavenger hunt in the city.

Let RideKC be your guide on an adventure from the Country Club Plaza to the River Market that will clue you in on fun facts very few know about the city’s landmarks.

Jump aboard RideKC’s signature Main Street MAX service at the Plaza and ride it to Union Station where you can ride the streetcar headed for the River Market.

Along the way, you will learn little-known details about historic Union Station, Liberty Memorial, the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Crossroads Arts District and other major Kansas City attractions.

What’s the name of the museum guard sculpture at the Nelson? How many flags are on the Sister Cities International Bridge at the Plaza? Where’s Film Row in the Crossroads?

Main Street MAX and the streetcar will take you to seven destinations, each reflecting a unique slice of Kansas City. Our new scavenger hunt pamphlet, with schedules and route details, gives our scavenger  hunters questions to answer about each location.

You can start your hunt anywhere between the Country Club Plaza and the River Market. Our Main Street MAX route and the downtown streetcar will drop you in between in your search for whimsical facts about your city’s historical landmarks.

You can start your tour by driving to one of our park-and-ride lots at 74th and Broadway in Waldo or Third and Grand near the River Market. Bus fare is just $1.50. The streetcar is free.

Make it a fun afternoon bonding with family and friends. Enjoy everything the city offers, whether it’s exploring science at Union Station, getting a history lesson at Liberty Memorial or taking in all of the eclectic produce vendors at the River Market. And learn a little more about your city along the way.

It’s an adventure great for small groups or parents who want to keep their kids active and engaged during the summer. It’s also a great chance for visitors to Kansas City to get acquainted with our city.
