Free bus rides on Election Day

On Election Day, fares on all RideKC bus routes serving Kansas City, Johnson County, Wyandotte County and Independence will be free.

“Exercising the right to vote is so important that we want to make it as easy as possible to get to the polls,” said KCATA President and CEO Robbie Makinen. “We are grateful to our regional transit partners in Johnson County, Independence and KCK for agreeing to again make this a truly regional transit initiative.”

There will be a general election in Missouri and Kansas on Nov. 6.

Guide to Getting to the Polls

1. Find your polling place
Missouri: 
To find your polling place and check your voter status, Kansas City residents in Jackson County can visit the Kansas City Election Board.
If you live elsewhere in Missouri, start with the Secretary of State.

Kansas: 
Johnson County voters can access resources at Johnson County Election Office.
Wyandotte County election information is available at Wyandotte County Election Office.
If you live elsewhere in Kansas, information is available at Vote Kansas.
Kansas also allows advance voting in person and by mail.

2. Find your RideKC route

Online: Use the Google Transit trip planner on the homepage of RideKC.org. Receive transit and walking directions that you can print or send directly to your phone.
App: Download the RideKC App to plan a trip. 
By phone: call 816-221-0660 weekdays, between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. and provide your starting address and polling place address.

Paratransit riders should call 816-842-9070 to arrange a ride.
